Wayfinding, Placemaking, & Branded Environmental Graphics
The wayfinding system was designed to bring clarity and character to the open-air environment. RSM developed a hierarchy of pedestrian and vehicular signage that guides visitors effortlessly between storefronts, entertainment venues, and structured parking. Playful placemaking elements were woven throughout the district, introducing moments of discovery and reinforcing the energetic personality of the development. Bold parking graphics transformed utilitarian garages into branded extensions of the property, using scale, color, and supergraphics to simplify navigation while creating memorable visual impact. Throughout the signage program, the Runway brand was thoughtfully integrated—balancing contemporary typography, strong graphic forms, and a confident material palette that reflects the district’s modern, Westside sensibility.
Extending the Brand Through Leasing Collateral
Beyond the built environment, RSM extended the brand into print through the design of a leasing brochure that positioned Runway Playa Vista as a premier retail opportunity. The brochure translated the environmental graphics language into a compelling marketing narrative, combining strong visuals, clear data presentation, and lifestyle-driven storytelling. Together, the signage, placemaking, parking graphics, and collateral materials form a cohesive identity system—one that connects visitors, tenants, and the broader community to a distinctly local destination.
