A community shaped by a network of
distinctive parks woven into the natural
landscape

RSM Design was an integral design partner on Great Park Neighborhoods, a thoughtfully composed residential community in Irvine defined by its network of signature neighborhood parks and miles of walking and biking trails that connect homes to shared outdoor life. Each park within the community has its own distinct character and identity, serving as a social and recreational heart for the surrounding neighborhood. The overarching plan ties back to the larger Orange County Great Park, offering a unique blend of natural amenity, active living, and cultural connection.

Novel Park

Novel Park is one of Great Park Neighborhoods' newest gathering spaces—a park designed to celebrate the unexpected, joyful moments woven into everyday life. Its name is an invitation to see the ordinary differently, and that spirit carries through every design decision. RSM Design brought the park's character to life through vibrant color, bold typography, and whimsical details, crafting wayfinding signage and placemaking elements that feel as playful and surprising as the moments the park was named for.

Rise Park

Rise Park is named for the elevation and the feeling that comes with it. Perched within Great Park Neighborhoods, the park is designed to immerse visitors fully in the natural world, from the native materials woven into its signage to interpretive displays celebrating the wildlife and ecosystems of the surrounding landscape. Every element draws the eye outward and upward, culminating at The Overlook, a sweeping platform at the heart of the park where visitors can pause, breathe, and take in unobstructed views across Irvine. At Rise Park, the outdoors isn't a backdrop. It's the entire point.

Cadence Park

Cadence Park is where art and community life move together in rhythm. Designed as a hub for gathering, performance, and creative expression, the park pulses with bold environmental graphics, dynamic typography, and vibrant color at every turn. Resting spots invite visitors to linger, art installations spark curiosity and conversation, and dedicated spaces for performing arts and community events give the neighborhood a true cultural stage. At Cadence Park, the design doesn't just support the activity around it. It sets the tone.

Pavilion Park

Pavilion Park was one of the first communities to take shape within Great Park Neighborhoods, setting an early tone for what the larger development would become. The design draws from the historic character of the surrounding area, using signage and graphics to tell a layered, meaningful story rooted in place. Contemporary aesthetics meet playful, interactive details throughout, creating an environment that feels both refined and approachable. At Pavilion Park, history and the present exist side by side, each making the other more interesting.

The Pools

Spanning eight acres at the heart of Great Park Neighborhoods, The Pools is the community's premier destination for recreation and relaxation. The park brings together a variety of pool experiences, expansive lounge areas, volleyball courts, and an array of amenities designed for both active play and unhurried leisure. The design takes its cues from the natural world, translating organic forms and materials into a contemporary aesthetic that feels at once sophisticated and welcoming. Signage and graphics are woven seamlessly into the environment, enhancing the experience without interrupting it. At The Pools, every detail serves the feeling of being exactly where you want to be.

Parasol Park

Parasol Park is a community rooted in connection, both to neighbors and to the natural world. Anchored by a large community park, garden, greenhouse, and gathering building, the neighborhood came to life through a partnership with The Ecology Center, a local farm whose values of sustainability and stewardship shape the park's programming and personality. Together, they created a space that hosts regular family activities and gives the community a place to slow down, grow, and gather.

The design reflects that same spirit of craft and care. RSM Design developed a look and feel built around wood elements, hand-painted identity, and signage featuring hand-drawn typography and playful illustration. Elements from The Ecology Center's brand were woven into the garden signage, creating a cohesive and unified experience across the park.

Beacon Park

Beacon Park is one of several communities developed by Great Park Neighborhoods along the perimeter of the Orange County Great Park. RSM Design worked closely with FivePoint to craft a signage and wayfinding system that gives Beacon Park a distinct identity within the larger neighborhood collection. Drawing inspiration from navigation and mid-century modern design, the team developed a visual palette that is bold, confident, and immediately recognizable. The result is a park that doesn't just exist within the community. It signals it.

Solis Park

Solis Park is a residential community within Great Park Neighborhoods where everyday living feels like a step above. The park at its center brings together open grass lawns, a playground, and a communal lounge complete with seating and a kitchen, creating a natural gathering place for neighbors. The experience deepens at the luxury pool and spa, where a cave-inspired lounge, fire pits, and an outdoor kitchen set a tone that is equal parts relaxed and refined. RSM Design was brought in to develop wayfinding signage and environmental graphics throughout the neighborhood, weaving a cohesive design identity into every corner of the community.
